Mother's day is just 3 weeks away, and with our family gathering together today on Easter, it brought back memories of my mother. She is no longer with us as she passed into our Heavenly Fathers hands in April 1995. I thought it fitting to start a blog post of your favorite memory of your mother. It could be something that happened years ago or something more recent. For everyone who leaves a memory (comment) I will enter your name into a free soap give away. The names of all the entries will be put in a hat and I will draw one name on Monday, May 12. The winner will receive 2 bars of the soap of your choice, and that includes free shipping! I will get the memories started by sharing a favorite memory of my own mother.
My memory goes back many years as I grew up on a family fruit and vegetable farm. In the summer month of June we would have to get up at the crack of dawn and get ourselves out into the garden to pick strawberries. Dad worked away from the home and so my mother was our boss. My cousins and my brother and I had pick all the strawberries that were ripe for the picking and then we would sell them by the roadside stand. I remember always disliking picking in the early morning as the dew would be very heavy on the ground and leaves. My mother, even though she was the boss, would allow us to still have some fun. After we had picked for a while, someone would pick a bad or overripe berry and throw it at one of us, and it did not take long we had ourselves a good strawberry fight. Mom would let it go for as long as she could stand it and then she would finally use her boss skills, and restore order by saying, "All right, Children, time to get back to work." Those were great memories that have been passed down in stories that I am sure have grown a little bigger then they actually were. "Thanks for the memories Mom". Also, with Mother's Day coming soon, what a great time to purchase some of our soaps or lotions to give as a gift to your mother. You could even put together a gift basket for her, or you can purchase one of our already packaged gift baskets, or I will put together a specially designed one for you with the products of your choice. Soaps are a great gift to give to someone you love and will last for many weeks, unlike flowers, or candy that last just a few days, and besides... soaps are calorie free.

I have so many great memories of time with my mom. She is the only one who has ever truly loved me through all the bad times. She was the one person I needed most when we thought my baby was going to die and she flew to Texas to be with us. One of the funny memories was mom came to visit and my kids were grade school and we were in a glass elevator and mom is on her knees hugging Josh saying it will be alright Josh and Josh is telling her to move because he could not see out the windows. We all laughed so hard at her failed attempt to be brave. I so love my mom and words will nerve express to her how much she means to me. I am 56 years old and I still need my mom.

My mom passed away when I was 11 years old. I really don't remember too much, but I do remember her and I sitting on the piano bench with her playing and singing all her favorite Christian songs!! I do remember she had such a beautiful voice!! She also made all our clothes, I always loved getting the material for our Easter dresses, and of course our Easter bonnets!! It has been 44 years ago, and I still remember that day!
